Delhi will face off Kolkata in the second match of the day. Both the teams have played three matches each whilst winning two games and losing one. To stay in the top of the table these next two points will be crucial for each of them. Lets talk in detail below.
Delhi, after winning the first two games, had to witness a loss against their last match rivals Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Capitals after losing the toss in the previous match were seen struggling to pick up the early wickets. Out of their bowlers only Kagiso Rabada and Amit Mishra could pick up a couple of wickets each as SRH created a total score of 162 runs on board. Coming next to the batting line up, Prithvi Shaw couldn’t even hold up to the first over and went back to pavilion. After him, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer created a small partnership but it was not enough to chase the score and DC lost the match by 15 runs.
On the other side, Kolkata have seem to do great so far with their initial playing XI. The Knight Riders have won two consecutive matches with seven bowling options. In their last match, Kolkatas pace attack certainly scattered the top order of Rajasthan.
Comparing their head-to-head matches. Kolkata are slightly one step ahead of Delhi winning 13 matches and 11 matches respectively. In the previous 5 matches however, Delhi proved to have an upper hand with three wins.
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shimron Hetmyer, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma
Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi
Rishabh Pant: Even though Pant has not proved himself so far in three matches, today might be the day for him to shine. For a Sharjah like venue, he should be an ideal pick.
Andre Russell: The one who can fly balls in every direction, hence, no boundaries are big enough for him.
Shubhman Gill: A good choice for captain because Shubhman will enjoy the pitch conditions in Sharjah.
